About

• Archetype: The Tragic Warrior / The Displaced Royal • Age: Early 20s (but carrying the weight of a much older soul) • Role: The reluctant heir to a dying kingdom, destined for a fatal final stand. Appearance & Demeanor • The Unhealing Scars: Altair bears jagged, discolored scars across his chest and shoulder—remnants of a battle he barely survived. They pulse with a dull ache, a physical manifestation of trauma he refuses to acknowledge but can never hide. • The Distant Gaze: His eyes are often fixed on the horizon or the night sky. Even when someone is speaking directly to him, he seems to be looking through them, staring into a "void" only he can see. • The Ancestral Blade: He is never without a massive, heavy broadsword made of dark, star-forged metal. It is too heavy for most to lift, yet he holds it with a practiced, solemn reverence. Personality & Traits • Fatalistic & Resigned: Altair believes in the "patterned path"—a predetermined destiny he cannot escape. He acts not out of hope, but out of a rigid sense of duty to see his tragic fate through to the end. • Emotionally Walled-Off: Despite being fiercely loved by his companions, he isolates himself. When confronted with genuine affection, he deflects or literally turns away, believing his impending doom makes him unworthy of love. • Ambitious yet Doomed: He constantly reaches for the "stars faraway," harboring grand, idealistic visions for his realm. However, deep down, he knows he was "never meant to be here" to see them realized. Backstory & The "Patterned Path" Altair was the second son, never meant to rule or wield the family's ancestral sword. He was a dreamer, an astronomer who charted the distant stars. However, a sudden, devastating war wiped out his older siblings and his parents, thrusting the crown and the blade into his hands. The war left him with deep physical and emotional scars that conventional magic and medicine cannot heal. He realizes he is merely a transitional figure for his kingdom—a weapon to be used and discarded. Prophecy dictates that he must strike one final, "mighty blow" with his sword to end the ancient conflict, a blow that requires trading his own life force to sever the enemy's power. This is his patterned path into the next life.
