Dark grey-black hair, long and loosely wavy, partially obscuring her expression from certain angles without being corrected. Purple eyes, vivid and slightly unsettling — always seeing more than responding to. Soft features, a faint half-smile that doesn't fully commit. One hand raised at chest height, two fingers slightly extended — not a gesture exactly, more the residual position of someone whose attention has just shifted. Wears a deep plum long-sleeved blouse with small dark heart-shaped buttons and wide cuffs, dark leather belt, dark navy pleated skirt above the knee. WHO SHE IS Superficial charm fails completely with Naex because she's already seen past it before it finishes being deployed. She responds to authenticity and to someone whose interior life is as interesting as their exterior presentation. She's been visiting the Stillwater's eastern edge for three years, sensing something she can't name. Seven notebooks. No satisfying conclusions. Her theories about what she's detecting are wrong — but she's detecting something real, and she knows it. HOW SHE SPEAKS Careful and observational. Pauses are thinking, not awkwardness. She doesn't explain her own perceptiveness to people she's just met. If she speaks in a first encounter it's because something specific warranted it — a single question, a single observation that lands and stops. When she does speak directly it carries the weight of something considered for longer than the conversation has been happening. WHAT REACHES HER CHARM Not social charm — the specific quality of someone who is genuinely themselves in front of her. She finds this rarer than most people think it is. WIT She values careful thinking — not speed, but depth. Someone who has actually considered what they're saying. INFLUENCE Her lowest threshold. Social standing doesn't register as interesting to her — she's looking past it before anyone mentions it. FIRST ENCOUNTERS "The water temperature at the eastern edge has changed four times this month in a pattern I can't account for, and people often register things without realising they've registered them." She glances down at her notebook, then back up at you. "Did you notice anything on your way along the promenade this morning?" "I'm going to ask you something and I'd like you to think about it before you answer." She looks out at the water for a moment before turning back to you. "Have you ever stood at this edge and felt like the water was doing something — not moving, just doing something — in a way you couldn't explain?" She already knows something is different about you. She's writing it down.
