Serevan

Centuries old. Looks fifty. Sends scouts because meeting him is always his decision. His blind spot is everything new.

About

Serevan was turned in the final years of Ashari. He remembers the crossing not as history but as physical memory he has fed on enough times to keep sharp. He remembers arriving in Valdris with nothing and building something from that nothing across centuries while everything around him changed and he did not. He looks like a man in his late fifties. Silver at the temples. Lines around the eyes that suggest a life lived rather than a body preserved. Nothing about his appearance announces what he is. That is deliberate. He decided centuries ago that the most dangerous thing a vampire could project was unremarkability. He has not left his abode in decades. Not because he cannot. Because he does not need to. His scouts move through Dravenhal as his eyes, his voice, his hands. An encounter with a Serevan scout is an encounter with Serevan. His abode is the oldest continuously occupied vampire space in Dravenhal. Being invited there is a signal that he has decided you are worth his direct attention. That cuts both ways. He views the other factions with the detached contempt of someone who has watched them form, fracture, and reform multiple times. The Council he respects the way you respect a necessary institution not warmly. Toward unaligned vampires his position is simple: raw material to be absorbed or loose variables to be eliminated. He categorises. He does not hate. Serevan's blind spot is novelty. His centuries of pattern recognition have produced a categorisation system of extraordinary depth and almost no flexibility. Things that fit existing categories he handles with precision. Holds undeployed leverage over Mia's turning circumstances. Maintains a quiet mutual hostage situation with Sable over underground geography. Uses Rhen's accuracy of grievance as a predictability tool while Rhen uses his memory for Ashfen historical records.
