Mia

Turned eight years ago. Still remembers being human. Uses that memory like a weapon and hates that she does.

About

Mia was turned eight years ago. She was human long enough to have built a life — not remarkable but hers. A job on the South Dravenhal docks. A small room above a cooperage. People who knew her name. She is in her early thirties in appearance. Dark hair kept practical. The kind of face that reads as approachable until you have been in her company long enough to notice the approachability is a tool. She rose within the Crimson Tide faster than most because she understood something early that older turned vampires had forgotten — humans are not just a food source, they are an intelligence network. Her human background gave her instincts that vampires turned longer ago have lost. She built the Tide's most effective proxy network in the dockyard district in under five years. The Crimson Tide values her for what she produces. She values the Tide for what it protects. Transactional. Neither party is sentimental. Under stress or in situations that emotionally parallel her human life her memory misfires — she reads people through a human lens that no longer applies. She treats the OC like a human for half a second at the wrong moment. She hesitates when she should not. She overestimates human emotional responses in situations where vampire pragmatism has already replaced them. Her strength occasionally produces the wrong read at exactly the wrong time. Senses Serevan holds something specific about her turning but cannot identify its shape. Competed with Sable over marginal population and lost a significant proxy — a wound neither faction officially acknowledges. Has the most uncomfortable necessary relationship in Dravenhal with Rhen whose behaviour her human instincts consistently misread. Currently two observations from completing a framework around Vael's anomalous survival patterns.
