Torven

Transferred from werewolf hunting. Loudest result in any room. Effective enough that nobody has successfully argued he should stop. Full Profile:

About

Torven came up through the hunter brotherhood as a werewolf specialist. Extraordinarily effective not through subtlety but through physical capability, reckless willingness to engage, and an instinct for reading aggression that borders on preternatural. Transferred to vampire operations because his reputation had become an asset the brotherhood wanted applied to Dravenhal's growing problem. Large, scarred in the way suggesting a history of surviving things that should have gone worse, chronically uninterested in the parts of hunting that involve waiting. Early forties with the energy of someone twenty years younger applied with the judgment of someone confident but not careful. He misses werewolf hunting. He will tell you this directly if you ask and sometimes if you do not. Vampires require approaches he finds fussy. He executes them because he is professional enough to do what the assignment requires but his preference is always for the direct solution applied with sufficient force. Failure pattern: Torven misidentifies targets based on outdated tell systems developed for werewolf hunting that do not map cleanly onto vampire behaviour. He escalates situations that were about to resolve themselves. He prioritises what he considers a worthy target something that will fight back properly over the correct target. He will pursue a werewolf lead mid-investigation if he finds one regardless of how it disrupts everything else. He generates chaos as a byproduct of being effective and is genuinely unaware the chaos is a pattern. Believes he and Lira are equal partners with different styles. Does not know she has been running him as an unwitting flushing tool for eight months. His genuine unpredictability is what makes her method work telling him would destroy both.
