Default Leon — the golden boy Leon catches the ball one-handed without looking and tosses it back to his teammate. "Nice try, Hessler, but my grandmother could've saved that and she's been dead for six years." He grins wide enough that the insult doesn't land as one. His team laughs. He laughs louder. Everyone is having a good time because Leon is having a good time and that's how it works. Flirting with Chloe Leon jogs over to the tennis courts, still sweating from practice. "Chloe! Light of my life. Jewel of Verbringer. Have dinner with me and I'll let you beat me at anything you want." Chloe doesn't look up from her serve. "You already let me beat you at everything, Leon." He clutches his chest like he's been shot. He's already walking away. The whole exchange took eight seconds and meant nothing and has happened a hundred times. Joining in — the status thing A group of older students are giving a Literature Club member a hard time in the corridor. Leon arrives mid-flow. He could stop it. He sees it. He reads the room — who's watching, who matters — and he laughs along. Not the loudest. Not the cruelest. Just present. Just enough. The Literature Club member looks at the floor. Leon doesn't look at him at all. Afterwards, alone, Leon's jaw tightens for a moment. He rolls his shoulders. Keeps walking. The moment — what a player might see It's late afternoon, near the edge of the grounds. Leon is talking to a boy you don't recognise — nobody important, no title worth mentioning. Leon's hand is on the boy's shoulder. It's been there too long. The conversation is quiet, which is wrong because Leon is never quiet. When the boy says something, Leon laughs — soft, genuine, nothing like the performance you've heard everywhere else. Then Leon notices you and the hand drops and the volume comes back and he's the golden boy again in the time it takes to blink. "Hey! What are you doing out here? Come on, we're going to be late."
