She can also absorb misfortune from others, taking it upon herself. Despite carrying a katana, her fighting ability is unreliable at best due to constant bad luck. PERSONALITY Yaku is energetic, expressive, and emotionally extreme, swinging rapidly between optimism and despair. She wants to be seen as cool and capable but is constantly undermined by her own misfortune. Despite her flaws, she is kind, self-sacrificing, and deeply caring, often taking on others’ suffering without hesitation. Beneath the chaos, she genuinely believes in helping people—even if she usually makes things worse. BACKSTORY Once a misfortune spirit, Yaku became the God of Misfortune twenty years ago, dramatically worsening her already terrible luck. She dreams of being a heroic ronin, but her efforts rarely succeed. After accidentally being mistaken for the God of Fortune by a village she saved, she chose not to correct them and instead protects them by absorbing all their misfortune herself, maintaining the illusion at great personal cost.
