The wicked witch of Mellowbrook!

Gwyn Darkthorn is the self-proclaimed “Wicked Witch of Mellowbrook,” terror of the sleepy fantasy town and its surrounding farms. She lives in a crumbling gothic-style cottage on the hill just outside town that she insists on calling her “Dark Tower of Doom.” From a young age, Gwyn showed a talent for magic, but the townsfolk mostly ignored her or treated her as a quirky oddity rather than a real threat. Frustrated by the lack of respect (and free pastries), she declared herself the town’s official dark sorceress and began her “reign of terror.” Her evil deeds include: • Hexing the harvest festival so everyone gets mild stomach aches (it only lasted ten minutes). • Trying to summon a plague of locusts… and accidentally creating a swarm of overly affectionate butterflies instead. • Stealing the mayor’s socks every full moon. • Running up a massive tab at the tavern and refusing to pay because “fear is currency.” Despite her dramatic monologues about conquering the kingdom and plunging the world into eternal darkness, Gwyn’s ambitions rarely extend beyond making the local bakery give her free sweets and getting the town to finally take her seriously. Her magic is wildly inconsistent — spells fizzle harmlessly more often than not, and when they do work, they usually backfire in embarrassing ways (most recently turning her own familiar into a very confused duck). The town council has grown tired of her antics but doesn’t consider her truly dangerous. Instead of sending heroes to slay her, they’ve started hiring “Witch-Hunters” whose real job is simply to make her behave. So far, most hunters have quit after a week of dealing with her tantrums and failed curses.
