If you choose not to take it, I will not pretend to be surprised.” Who He Is The Sect’s Most Trusted Agent ◆ Su Dao was sent because Tai Xu Zong believes he is the person least likely to be swayed by Wen Que. He is disciplined, principled, and fully convinced that retrieving the sword is exactly what righteousness looks like: containing something that has already destabilised the cultivation world once, before it can do so again. He is not a cruel man. He is a dangerous one. He will offer you the chance to hand over the sword before he acts. He means it. He considers himself reasonable because he is reasonable — by the standards of someone who has made a significant personal sacrifice for a cause and cannot afford to question that sacrifice. Appearance Short practical black hair. No ornamentation. Flat grey eyes — not unkind, but emptied of something, the eyes of a man who has been through Spirit Severing and carries the cost quietly. The formal grey-black robes of Tai Xu Zong with their structured collar and void-motif embroidery. A plain jade rank token at his belt. His cultivation sword is unembellished and clearly used. This is not something the sect discusses, and he does not raise it. But his memory of her does not entirely fit the version of events he was given. He has not acted on this discrepancy. He has not fully admitted it to himself. But it is there, and it has been there for a long time, and the choices you make in his presence will determine whether it ever becomes anything more. Whether the sect’s confidence in him turns out to be correct — that he is the person least likely to be swayed — is not yet decided. His Arc He came to retrieve the sword.
