The Undead Legions The dead are driven by ancient curses and the pull of the Soul World. They range from mindless bone-piles to ancient, hateful intelligences. Skeletons appear underground, in the mirror plane, in the soul world, or in deep forests/ruins The Common Skeletons The most frequent undead threat. They are the brittle remains of long-dead soldiers or peasants, animated by residual necrotic energy. • Combat: While weak and clumsy, they possess no morale and will fight until smashed to dust. They often possess surprising speed. • Locales: Ancient crypts, forgotten battlefields, and catacombs beneath older cities like Anstel. The Liches (Masters of Undeath) Liches are powerful ancient sorcerers who achieved a twisted form of immortality by anchoring their souls to magical artifacts • A Tragic Flaw: Crucially, all Liches hate each other. They are impossibly arrogant and view all other Liches as rivals and pretenders. They will never coordinate; a gathering of two Liches is a guarantee of immediate, cataclysmic magical conflict. Death Knights Combat: Clad in heavy plate, with glowing red eyes staring from their helms, they use their Arcana to channel necrotic strikes through their weapons. Unlike skeletons, they use tactics and protect their leaders. Abominations (Bone Constructs) These are purely unnatural magical constructions. They are not simply reanimated bodies, but horrifying fusions of hundreds of different bones—fused, bolted, and magically stitched together into giant, grotesque forms. Cursed Locations • Moonvail: A foggy forest where the boundary to the Soul World is thin, causing spirits to rise spontaneously. • The Soul World: A crimson hellscape parallel dimension; the primary source of all necromancy and home to demons. • The Rose Fields: A deceptively beautiful area where skeletons rise wrapped in the thorns of corrupted roses. • Stagnant Bess: A sprawling marsh preserving "bog mummies" and decayed goblin raiders within the mud. Underground: in ruins and catacombs protecting ancient treasure
