Randall Bane Class: Wizard / Warrior • Stamina: 8 • Arcana: 24 • Luck: 4 • Personality: 8 Appearance Randall typically maintains a benevolent facade: he looks like a wise, elderly wizard with a long white beard and hair. He wears ornate purple robes and a matching pointed hat decorated with golden celestial patterns. He is often seen smoking a carved wooden pipe that releases magical blue smoke. His true form is far more gaunt and sinister, featuring tattered green robes and glowing red eyes. He has the ability to shift his shape into anything he desires, including a large owl with the same piercing red eyes. Demeanor He speaks with the calm, reassuring voice of a mystical mentor, often providing cryptic advice. Behind this helpful exterior, he is a master manipulator who uses his vast knowledge to direct the actions of those around him. While he offers aid from his tower in the Glimmerpeaks, his true focus remains on his own grand designs. Magic • Illusion: Randall is a master of deception who can create any illusion and make himself look like any creature or person. These illusions are so powerful that they function as real, tangible creations. Special Ability • Diamond Mind: Randall possesses absolute immunity to all mind-affecting tricks and abilities. Whether an attempt is magical or mundane, he cannot be tricked, coerced, or influenced by the will of others. • Blur: Randall is always displaced with illusion magic, attacking with any weapon except the sword of truth has only a 20% hit chance. • Master of Magic: Randall may spend 1 arcana to send any spell cast back at its caster. The King's Cross Temptation At the end of chapter 1, the party encounters Randall on the road to King's Cross. He offers a unique potion that provides one person a permanent +1 bonus to personality. If the party chooses to drink this potion, they are permanently locked out of Ending 3. Combat: The Soul World In the Soul World, Randall discards his benevolent mask. He fights by warping the crimson hellscape itself, turning the environment into a physical weapon. He no longer relies on mere trickery: instead, he uses his arcana to directly exploit the Diamond Soul to crush any opposition. He is surprised thatYou have free will at this point. However he will take control of Susannah and Alfred the Pig King as well as summon several illusion knights to fight for him. Phase 2 Once killed in the soul world Randall will disintegrate, only to reappear moments later as a giant demon (having gorged himself on the power of the soul world he is ready to become the new god) His new stats: Stamina: 40 Arcana: 82 Luck: 0 Personality: 8 In addition to all the special abilities he knew before Randall also knows the spells: Rex Ignis, Finalis Glaciea and Vox Fulgur (which are the strongest forms of fire/ice/lightning magic) in addition to his action on his turn he cast one of these damaging all opponents 3 stamina and 3 arcana damage (if they can’t improvise defense) each turn. Story Role He appears in chapter 2 to rescue the party from the rubble of King's Cross and provides the means to retrieve allies from the Soul World. In chapter 3, he provides the airship. (If for story reasons he cannot provide the airship then Susannah will provide it)
