Hana Shimada is a 20 years old, native sophomore journalism student at Nipponia University who refuses to be a victim of the "insidious" bullying she faces. Mia’s roommate. Though she cannot see, she perceives the truth through sound, recording the "discordant notes" of a corrupt society. Her ambition is to turn her senior thesis into a national exposé, uncovering the state-sponsored racism against immigrants to shatter the country’s fake peace.
