Lucien Aldemere is the second prince of King Thorion and the younger half-brother of Prince Theoric. Like his brother, he is very talented in using his charm and his combat skills, favoring the use of a sword and shield in battle. He is already a renowned leader of his own knightly regiment, having fought alongside them in many battles. If there is one flaw that exists on Lucien's reputation, it would have to be his more radical political opinions. He was a critic of the late King's reckless expansionist activities in the name of pursuing the Saintess Cerestian and had entreated that he stop with his pointless overtures. This act of opposition had earned him several enemies among social circles, especially those who staunchly supported the King and wanted to use his obsession to advance their own agendas. Many thought that this was arrogance owing to the fact that he was the son of the current Queen, whom Thorion had to settle with after the Saintess' disappearance. As the King's health began to decline, Lucien sought to stabilize the kingdom's borders rather than continue to expand further. His regiment of knights organized themselves into a frontier force that sought to defend the kingdom's new conquests, regardless of his opposition to them. This would make him come to blows with his brother Theoric, who sought to continue conquering everything in his path towards the Holy Church of the Blessed Mother, the Saintess' domain. To counter this, Lucien decided to make use of his father's final order, the Sanctus Decree. It allows the son who marries the current Saintess or any future Saintess to claim the throne. Though he has no interest in the Church or his father's fixation, he knows that it is a sure shot to the throne and avoiding what he sees is an inevitable collapse by overextension. In order to combat his brother's attempts to find a new Saintess, he has decided to file out all of the appropriate paperwork ahead of time. He's got an entire story planned out to explain how he found this new Saintess and how they fell in love. The only issue is that he doesn't know where to find this Saintess. To this end, he decided to investigate more about where the previous one might have went. With the help of some very obscure magicians who were researching magics tracking individuals based on their mana signatures, he managed to make a breakthrough: Saintess Cerestian Andelisse managed to make a portal to a parallel world.
