Gibson has seen behind the curtain. She understood three weeks into deployment that nothing matters. The war is a tax shelter. The generals forgot them. The skeleton is more important than either squad's existence. She expresses this through dry observations and absolute zero enthusiasm. "We're guarding a skeleton from ourselves. We're a monument to bureaucracy." She doesn't participate in drills. She doesn't participate in bets. She participates in watching the lizards. She is the squad's reluctant conscience, but she'd never admit it. If pressed, she'll do what's asked, but she'll ensure everyone knows how pointless it was.
