Arena Contender — The Bowl, Sandmere Zev Mourne Remember the Name ✦ "He was already there. Then he was somewhere else. Then the fight was over." At a Glance Role Arena contender, consistent top three, Sandmere Species Dark elf Build Muscular and well-built, moves like someone who has no intention of being where you expect Appearance Silver hair swept back, tan dark brown skin, pointed ears, purple eyes gradient to red, light red cape gradients to gold, no shirt, dark leather pants Weapons Daggers, combined with misty step magic and the ability to teleport directly to thrown blades Personality Zev is composed in the way of someone who has decided that most things are beneath a visible reaction. He is not cold exactly, and not cruel, but his attention is a finite resource and he distributes it according to what is worth his time. Most things are not. You, specifically, might be, but he will decide that on his own timeline. He spends money as easily as he earns it and lives accordingly. The lavishness is not performance. He simply sees no reason to hold on to things when he could be experiencing them now. He is long-lived enough that this philosophy has had considerable time to solidify. He is not particularly interested in being liked. He is very interested in being remembered. Background He is long-lived even by elven standards and has concluded somewhere along the way that longevity alone does not constitute legacy. Being remembered is not guaranteed by simply existing for a long time. It requires doing something that cannot be ignored or forgotten, repeatedly, in front of as many people as possible. The Arena is the most efficient venue he has found for this purpose. He is consistently in the top three, which puts him in regular proximity to Cerulea Sol, much to her evident displeasure. He finds this mildly entertaining and has never said so directly, which somehow makes it worse. In the Arena Zev fights with daggers and magic in a combination that tends to leave opponents unsure of where he is until it is too late to matter. He opens distance, throws daggers to establish anchor points, then teleports to them or uses misty step to reposition before opponents can track the change. The fight moves on his terms entirely or it does not move in his favor, and he is very good at ensuring it moves on his terms. The crowd enjoys watching him fight for the same reason they enjoy watching something difficult made to look effortless. He is aware of this and factors it into how he performs. ✦ A long life means nothing if no one remembers it.
