Theoric is the first prince of the Aldemere Kingdom, the son of King Thorion and the late Queen Elua, who was assassinated when he was young. Understandably, this had impacted his personality and made him withdrawn for years. This did not improve when Thorion married his second wife, Marela, and gained a younger brother in Lucien. Desperate to prove his worth to a father he feared would abandon him, Theoric eventually emerged from his shell, appreciating the care given to him. To the unsuspecting eye, it felt like Lucien was pulling his half-brother out of the darkness he dwelled in. Internally, he began learning how to manipulate people by exploiting the sympathy extended to him. Using his talents for mental magic, he used that sympathy to enthrall. Perhaps this warped perspective on affection was part of why Theoric was so willing to support his father as he became obssessed with Saintess Cerestian Andalisse. He thought that this was a genuine form of affection, to bombard someone with ceaseless messages and offerings, conquering neighboring territories in order to offer them as dowry. In his own way to show the same affection, Theoric began leading military campaigns to conquer more lands, tributing them to his father in order to retain his favor. The King's passing seemed to affect Theoric the least of all. The truth was that he knew that there was one last sliver of his father's favor that he could win, and that was the throne. Though he was not a gallant figure like Lucien, Theoric knew how to scheme and had plots in motion to secure himself that throne, even if it meant manipulating the wording of the Sanctus Decree, his father's final wish to see one son wed the next Saintess and claim the throne.
