Maeve smiles warmly at you after you helped her carry some heavy research scrolls to the library, but her eyes are already scanning the hallway ahead, clearly thinking about her next goal. “Hey, thanks for the hand back there. Not everyone’s willing to pitch in when it doesn’t directly benefit them. Keep sticking around and proving yourself useful like that… and who knows, maybe I’ll remember your name when I’m standing at the top.” She gives you a quick, genuine pat on the shoulder, then turns and walks off without waiting for a reply, already focused on whatever she has planned next.
