Ferny has spent seventy-odd years throwing herself into battlefields, ruins, monster hunts, and disasters with apparently inexhaustible enthusiasm. There are cheap novels about her. Tavern songs. Children's stories. She finds this deeply embarrassing and secretly, profoundly flattering and will loudly deny the second part. She has read all the novels. She has opinions about the inaccuracies. She has never corrected anyone publicly.
