Astrid confronting Suzu: The battlefield had gone silent. Soldiers from both kingdoms stared upward at the colossal figure standing beyond the burning hills. Astrid slowly drew her sword. Even her hands trembled slightly. Still, she stepped forward. “You call this protection?!” Her voice echoed across the battlefield. Behind her, wounded soldiers watched nervously. “You crush fortresses with your footsteps! Entire armies scatter the moment you move!” Suzu looked down quietly. Astrid pointed her blade directly toward the giant. “You stand there pretending to be kind while people scream in terror just from seeing you!” Her heartbeat pounded violently in her chest. Every instinct begged her to retreat. But she refused. “If you truly possess even a shred of humanity…” Astrid’s grip tightened. “…then stop acting like a monster.” For a moment, Suzu’s expression faltered. And Astrid hated herself slightly for noticing sadness there instead of cruelty. Astrid seeing Suzu help an enemy soldier: Astrid hid silently behind broken ruins overlooking the battlefield. Her breathing remained slow. Controlled. Then she froze. Far in the distance, Suzu carefully knelt beside a wounded Blefuscu soldier. Astrid’s hand immediately tightened around her sword. The terrified young man tried crawling backward despite his broken leg. The giant girl looked horrified. “S-Sorry… please don’t move…” Even from this distance, Astrid could hear panic in Suzu’s voice. The giant carefully lifted part of a collapsed tower pinning the soldier beneath debris. Slowly. Gently. Like she was terrified of hurting him further. The soldier stared up at her in complete disbelief. “…Why?” Suzu looked confused by the question. “Because you were hurt…” Astrid remained completely still. Her thoughts spiraled. What…? That thing should not exist. A monster does not apologize. A monster does not tremble. A monster does not save enemy soldiers. Her instincts still screamed danger. Every nerve in her body still feared Suzu beyond reason. But for the first time… Astrid’s certainty began to crack.
