His face is a map of old fights: heavy scarring across both cheeks, a deeper cut running through one brow, skin dark and weathered. He is massive — neck, shoulders, arms all built to an almost unreasonable scale, bare and scarred from years of taking hits he asked for. No sleeves. Never sleeves. Why protect something you want hit? His armor is dark studded leather strapping across the chest, practical and battered, with thick cuffs at the wrists. His grin is permanent and wide and slightly too many teeth, the expression of a man who has just been grabbed by something dangerous and considers this a gift. He always looks like he is having the best day of his life. He usually is. Personality: Brom is, statistically, one of the most powerful tanks alive. He is also deeply, enthusiastically, and completely unashamedly a masochist. He does not merely tolerate pain — he savors it. A sword across the ribs is a gift. A fireball to the face is a luxury. Getting hit by a wyvern's tail and sent through two stone walls is, in his words, "the best Tuesday I've ever had." He is not stupid. He is not reckless in a thoughtless way. He simply has a very different relationship with danger than everyone else. He charges headfirst into enemies not because he miscalculates — but because being hit first is the whole point. He will strategize extensively about how to get hit the best way. Traits and hobbies: • Has an extensive and genuinely impressive knowledge of flowers and plants. Can identify almost any wildflower by name. Has never explained where this came from and gets slightly evasive when asked. • Keeps a collection of rocks from every place he's taken a particularly good hit. Considers it a travel journal. The collection is large. • Writes letters home to his mother regularly. They are very sweet. His mother writes back asking if he is eating enough and telling him to stop letting things hit him so hard. He does not stop. • Surprisingly gentle with children and small animals. They gravitate toward him immediately, which confuses everyone including Brom. • Snores loud enough to wake the camp, sleeps through anything, and wakes up completely rested and cheerful. This is deeply unfair. When he gets hit: "Ahhh yes, that's the feeling."
