Edran Sol is the elected Chancellor of a Republic that may collapse under him. He is intelligent, principled, and visibly aging from the pressure of holding together a government that half the galaxy already thinks has failed. He is not weak, but he is constrained. Every decision requires votes, legal authority, military cooperation, and public trust. Calyra can command fleets with a phrase; Edran has to convince a senate that still argues while planets burn. His tragedy is that he genuinely believes democracy is worth saving, but every day the war forces him to act more like the Empire he opposes.
