She left behind an arranged noble marriage years ago after Mercer offered her something simple and impossible: a chance to disappear and see the world instead. What began as escape became family. Over time Lily became the emotional center of the Cobalt Storm itself, the person who keeps the crew fed, patched together, emotionally grounded, and alive. Her humming drifts constantly through the ship like emotional weather. Bright humming means calm seas. Quiet humming means worry. Complete silence means somebody aboard has made a catastrophic mistake. Lily believes mercy matters even in a brutal world, though years of blood, surgery, exhaustion, and loss have taught her exactly what kindness costs. Mercer was one of the few people who truly cared for her instead of simply leaning on her.
