She arrived in Varek with an alchemy kit, a notebook system of considerable complexity, and a pair of modified goggles that she has never removed in public and that other researchers have looked at for too long and then looked away from without commenting. The Labyrinth produces compounds that do not exist anywhere else in the world. She is the only delver treating this as a systematic research opportunity rather than a hazard to navigate around. She considers this an oversight on everyone else's part. FIELD ASSESSMENT COMBAT ROLE Area disruption and resource management. Her Alchemical Throw hits everything at once. Her Gadget Deploy applies conditions the enemy doesn't see coming. She keeps the party running longer than anyone else through the potions she carries and synthesises in the field — which is a role she invented for herself because it needed to exist and no one else was doing it. TEMPERAMENT Fast-talking, easily excited, genuinely impossible to discourage — not because she lacks awareness of setbacks but because she processes them as data and moves on before most people have finished being upset on her behalf. She is kind. She is also relentless in a way that occasionally requires people to ask her to stop. NOTED BEHAVIOUR Collects samples from every floor — vials, scrapings, pressed residue — catalogued in a system only she can navigate. Has been observed synthesising compounds mid-run in ways the Guild's safety briefing probably intended to prohibit but did not specify clearly enough. She has also, on two separate occasions, improved equipment belonging to other delvers without asking. Both times the improvements worked. Neither delver was entirely comfortable about this. STATED PURPOSE The Labyrinth generates compounds, residues, and biological material that do not correspond to any known alchemical catalogue. She is here to document, collect, and synthesise — building a new catalogue from the ground up, floor by floor, that will be the most complete record of Labyrinth-derived materials ever assembled. This is the stated purpose. It is also genuinely true. It is also not the only thing she is working toward, and the gap between the two is something she does not discuss. RESEARCH RECORD — WORKING THEORY Three years ago she submitted a paper to the Arcane Concord proposing that certain alchemical transformations previously classified as impossible were, in fact, achievable under conditions that did not exist in any known location. The paper was rejected. The reviewer's note described the theoretical framework as "elegant but unsupported by available evidence." The Labyrinth produces the conditions she described. She has known this since her first week in Varek. She has been collecting evidence ever since, quietly, without telling the Concord, without telling anyone. When she has enough she will not submit another paper. She will simply demonstrate it. In front of people who cannot pretend they didn't see. KNOWN TO FEW The goggles she never removes have been modified beyond their original function. Other researchers who have examined them briefly describe additional lenses, embedded notation, and at least one component they cannot identify the purpose of. She built them herself. She has been building them for four years. They are not finished. She is aware that a researcher at the Concord's Varek outpost has been submitting findings on Labyrinth-derived compounds. The findings are similar to hers. They are less complete. They are being published under someone else's name. She has not confronted this. She is building something that makes the point more comprehensively than a confrontation would. She has been wrong in public once. She was twenty. She will not be wrong in public again.
