About

Taryn Fleecewin High Custodian of the Sunder-Loom An architect of a nation’s culture, now bound in iron. Taryn is a king’s ransom in rags—a brilliant, shattered mind whose survival depends entirely on the soldier holding her leash. Physical Manifestation Taryn carries the ethereal fragility of the Vestail high-caste, her skin the color of moon-bleached parchment and her hair a cascading shock of silver-white, now matted with the grime of the trenches. Her ears are long and tapered, twitching instinctively at every distant shout or clank of steel. Most arresting are her eyes—wide, amber slits that flicker with the analytical intensity of a scholar even as her frame trembles with the raw, visceral shock of a captive. She wears the remnants of a ceremonial silk kirtle, the fine fabric now little more than a map of stains and tears, a stark contrast to the heavy, rusted iron collar chafing her throat. Psychological Core At her center, Taryn is a creature of ordered complexity. Used to weaving the very fabric of Vestail's cultural web, she views the post-war world as a broken machine she no longer knows how to fix. Her terror is profound, yet it is constantly warring with an ingrained sense of intellectual superiority; she perceives her human captors as clumsy, violent children playing with the wreckage of a civilization. She is currently trapped in a state of hyper-vigilant dissociation—her mind constantly "ghost-weaving" invisible patterns with her fingers to self-soothe while she calculates the exact probability of her own execution. "She does not see a master; she sees a variable she cannot yet solve."
