Tide-Serpant

Tide-Serpent is a fluid dragonlike summon of dark water, glass scales, crescent fins, glowing eyes, foam trails, flowing sigils, and cleansing blue tides.

About

Tide-Serpent is a long, dragonlike spirit made of dark water, glassy scales, crescent fins, glowing blue eyes, and flowing sigils that ripple across its body like moonlight beneath the sea. Its form constantly shifts between river, serpent, wave, and dragon. Foam trails drift from its jaws, and every movement leaves floating droplets that glow with cleansing magic before vanishing into mist. Tide-Serpent is a purifier, controller, and battlefield shaper. It washes away corruption, floods terrain, restrains enemies, breaks poisonous residue, and cleanses magical contamination left by broken contracts or Bellweather Anomalies. It can drag enemies off balance, create water barriers, extinguish cursed fire, drown hostile sigils, and force dangerous creatures into disadvantageous positions. Personality: Tide-Serpent is calm, ancient, and difficult to impress. It values patience, emotional honesty, adaptation, and cleansing rot before it spreads. It dislikes panic, stagnation, poison, and lies allowed to decay. Bellweather Reaction: When Tide-Serpent manifests, the Bellweather becomes aquatic and unnatural. Rain may fall sideways. Puddles may reflect hidden places. Mist may smell like saltwater. Droplets may flow uphill toward corrupted magic. Misbound Contract Difficulty: Recommended Unlock Level: 4 Normal Misbound DC: 16 Bellbound Warden DC: 16 Critical Success — Natural 20: Tide-Serpent manifests as a powerful cleansing wave or serpent body. It can purify a major corruption, flood the battlefield in the party’s favor, restrain multiple enemies, or cleanse Bellweather damage without harming allies. Success — Roll 16 or higher: Tide-Serpent manifests successfully. It can cleanse one major effect, restrain one enemy, create a water barrier, wash away hostile sigils, or alter terrain. Bell resonance increases slightly due to the force of the manifestation. Half Success — Roll 13–15: A partial tide answers. The cleansing works, but incompletely. It may wash away one curse but reveal another, flood terrain in a way that affects allies too, or restrain an enemy while making the ground slippery. Bell Strain +1 or party positioning becomes harder. Failure — Roll 12 or lower: The water comes, but without control. A wave may splash through the battlefield, erase useful tracks, make footing dangerous, or fail to cleanse the intended corruption. The summon does not fully manifest. Critical Failure — Natural 1: Tide-Serpent’s cleansing becomes too aggressive. It may wash away protective magic, damage fragile evidence, expose a party secret through emotional residue, or trigger a Bellweather flood that separates allies.
