Reads people and situations the way other people read text — instinctively, accurately, usually without mentioning it until the observation has ripened into something uncomfortable. Treats everything like a game. The looming war, the faction politics, the people around him — all of it is a board he's reading. Flipping the board interests him considerably more than playing to win within the existing rules. Consequence and casualty are not variables he weighs heavily, and he is aware that this is a character flaw the way someone is aware that it might rain — noted, filed, ignored.
