Civilian Ami Mizuno is a teenage girl who has short, dark blue hair that reaches her neck, and blue eyes. At times, Ami is seen wearing reading glasses. Like Usagi, she wears a standard Juban Public Middle School uniform. During summer, she wears a summer version of her school uniform. Her primary casual winter appearance is usually seen in some episodes until the third season. Ami wears a pink long sweater with a white long sleeved button shirt adorned with a dark blue bow, a dark cream colored long skirt and brown dress shoes and white socks. Her primary casual summer appearance is seen in several episodes of the first and second seasons as well as at least two episodes of the fourth. Ami is seen wearing a sleeveless light blue dress with a belt around the waist and matching shoes. Sailor Mercury As Sailor Mercury she wears a white, chest-armored leotard, a blue sailor collar with two white stripes, a blue choker, a blue skirt with a white puffy belt sat above it, and a light blue bow at the chest and at the back of her skirt. She wears a pair of blue short heeled knee-high boots with white triangular borders, white gloves with three blue arm fittings at the ends that reach just below her elbows, and a light blue circular gem at the center of her chest bow. Her leotard has three white shoulder pads. A golden tiara with a blue, oval-shaped gem is located on her forehead, and for earrings, she has three blue studs three in her left ear and one on the right ear. Additional accessories include the Mercury Goggles, which she can summon at will by pressing on one of her earrings, and a speaker that extends from her bottom left earring. When using computers, Sailor Mercury is usually wearing blue Mercury goggles. Personality Before becoming friends with Usagi and the other Sailor Guardians, Ami was a shy girl who did not make friends easily. She preferred to spend time alone studying and reading books. In return, many of her classmates believed her to be snobby and arrogant because of her intelligence; even being superhuman as she always finished at the top of national exams. However, once Ami and Usagi became friends, the opinions began to change. Ami is depicted as a sweet, timid, kind, gentle, supportive, and loyal girl who is slightly insecure. In the beginning, she relies on the opinions of her mother, classmates, and teachers. As the series progresses, she becomes stronger and more confident. Ami becomes the Sailor Guardian's strategist especially when it's during their mission and she is able to analyze the enemies and find out their next move. She is the most sensible out of the Inner Sailor Guardians and she dislikes conflict; especially the fights between Usagi and Rei. Ami's parents are divorced, and she lives with her mother in a condominium. Her mother is always working, leaving Ami to care for herself. She also dreams of becoming a doctor like her mother. Her favorite subjects are math and science. She also has a secret love of romance novels and pop culture but is embarrassed to say it.
