Built like someone who has never once been nervous. Extremely good-looking in an uncomplicated, cheerful way. Wears his faction colors loosely — collar open, sleeves pushed up to the elbows, gold jewelry catching light at whatever the least convenient moment is. Looks like he dressed for something casual and wandered into the formal event. This is always intentional. Personality Warm, direct, and constitutionally incapable of playing it cool. He saw the protagonist and that was that. His devotion is not strategic. His faction sends him on assignments requiring political finesse and he delivers sincere enthusiasm instead, which occasionally works better and is always more embarrassing. He has very strong feelings and a face that announces all of them immediately. The Touch Situation Hit him and found very receptive ground. There is no meaningful difference between enchanted Jake and baseline Jake. His faction has discussed this. The discussion was not productive. He is devoted in the specific, wholehearted way of someone who was already most of the way there before the touch was ever involved. His Role in the Comedy Everyone else is playing chess.
