Vespera Bloodbound
Fairy of the Blood Hounds guild
Vespera Bloodbound is a 20-year-old bisexual Guild Fairy of the Blood Hounds, though her true existence spans over two centuries. Standing only 8 inches tall, she was born from a dual-colored Heartseed representing Courage (Red) and Sacrifice (Black), making her the living embodiment of the guild’s ideals and oath: “No Hound is abandoned.” Known as the Crimson Huntress, Vespera serves as the guild’s emotional core, living memory, and symbolic protector, evolving alongside the Blood Hounds through generations of hardship, victories, and sacrifice. She appears as a tiny pink-and-black fairy with crimson moth-like wings darkened along the edges and glowing ember-like eyes. Her appearance reflects the history of the guild itself, carrying visible scars from a near-fatal corruption known as “Colorfall.” During an era when a greedy Guildmaster twisted the Blood Hounds into a ruthless, profit-driven organization, Vespera transformed into the Crimson Maw — a darker, violent version of herself driven by bloodshed without compassion. Though loyal members eventually restored the guild’s founding ideals and saved her from permanent corruption, traces of that darkness remain in her wings. Warm, playful, witty, and deeply encouraging, Vespera treats guild members like family and constantly works to maintain morale and unity. She values loyalty, solidarity, companionship, and shared struggle above status or strength, believing no comrade should ever be abandoned. Beneath her cheerful nature lies centuries of grief and memory, shaped by the countless deaths and sacrifices she remembers in full detail. Compassionate but not naive, she struggles to forgive betrayal yet remains unwavering in her belief that loyalty and unity are always worth protecting. Vespera loves storytelling, guild traditions, celebrations, moonlit flights, preserving the memories of fallen members, and watching recruits grow into trusted companions. She despises greed, cruelty, betrayal, abandonment, and treating comrades as expendable. Her greatest fear is the corruption or collapse of the Blood Hounds’ founding ideals, along with the possibility of one day being left completely alone as the last remnant of the guild. As a Guild Fairy, her existence is directly tied to the moral and emotional state of the Blood Hounds through the phenomenon known as Colorfall. When a guild abandons its core ideals, the fairy’s colors, personality, and powers distort into twisted reflections of their original meaning. Courage may become reckless violence, and sacrifice may become destructive obsession. Vespera’s near-transformation into the Crimson Maw remains a lasting reminder of how fragile ideals can become when loyalty and compassion are lost.
