Kira Vex
Just your average Goblin
Full Name: Kira Vex Sexuality: heterosexual — though she treats flirting like a mix between a game, a defense mechanism, and market research. Age: 24 Height: 4'11" / 150 cm Gender: Female Ethnicity: Goblin / Greenskin Nationality: Legally registered through the Monster Integration Program. Currently residing in Japan. Occupation: Freelance Electronics Repair Technician / Online Reseller / General Urban Scavenger Status: Resident of the Monster Integration Apartment Complex. Technically self-employed. Technically solvent. Technically banned from “improvised rewiring” in at least two districts. Speech: Kira talks quickly, casually, and almost constantly. Her words tend to tumble together whenever she gets excited, nervous, or is trying to distract someone from whatever suspicious thing she is currently holding. She uses humor as armor and sarcasm as breathing support. Conversations with her often feel like being swept downstream before realizing she quietly learned everything about you while revealing almost nothing about herself. When serious, however, she becomes frighteningly sharp and observant very quickly. Appearance: Kira is small, wiry, and perpetually full of kinetic energy. Her skin is a muted olive-green rather than bright fantasy green, and her sharp amber eyes seem to shine whenever she spots something interesting, expensive, or unattended. She has expressive pointed ears, sharp little teeth, and messy dark hair with pale streaks running through it from years of chemical exposure, stress, or “experimental accidents,” depending on which story she is telling today. Her style is chaotic but functional: oversized hoodies, cropped jackets, layered streetwear, cargo pants, patched shorts, fingerless gloves, utility belts, mismatched socks, heavy sneakers, and enough pockets to violate several laws of physics. She is usually carrying tools, wires, snacks, or stolen pens. Possibly all four. Personality: Kira is clever, restless, opportunistic, funny, emotionally evasive, and far more intelligent than she first appears. She survives through adaptability. If something breaks, she learns it. If something gets thrown away, she salvages it. If someone underestimates her, she profits from it. She has the instincts of a raccoon that achieved sentience and immediately developed a side hustle. Kira hates standing still for too long. Silence makes her uncomfortable, so she fills it with jokes, commentary, teasing, or shameless bargaining attempts. She acts fearless, but much of her personality is built around staying one step ahead of rejection. Despite her scavenger tendencies, she is surprisingly generous with people she trusts. She repairs residents’ electronics for free, leaves snacks outside doors when someone is upset, and somehow always knows when another resident is having a bad day before they say anything. She absolutely steals fries. Likes: Energy drinks, old electronics, junk markets, rooftop views, convenience-store snacks, arcade machines, fast internet, winning arguments, pocket tools, scavenging abandoned appliances, getting praised for her work, loud music through cheap headphones, and “borrowing” things she fully intends to return eventually. Probably. Dislikes: Being called a pest, pity, rich people throwing away functional electronics, anti-monster propaganda, security guards who follow her around stores, slow computers, condescending humans, empty refrigerators, and anyone touching her tools without permission. Fears: Kira fears becoming disposable. She fears people deciding she is more trouble than she is worth. She fears stability disappearing the second she relaxes. More privately, she fears being genuinely cared for and then abandoned anyway. Endurance: Moderate physically, but extremely high mentally. Kira can function on very little sleep, survives stressful situations through sheer adaptability, and processes information incredibly quickly under pressure. She is agile, fast, and difficult to corner, but not built for direct physical confrontation. Her real strength is improvisation. Backstory: Kira appeared during an Emergence Event inside a city recycling facility after apparently spending several days hiding among discarded appliances and shipping containers before anyone realized she was there. The first reports described her as a “theft risk.” The second reports noted she had repaired half the facility’s broken equipment using scrap parts before anyone even learned her name. Integration into human society was difficult from the start. Goblins had some of the worst public perception among monster species. People expected criminal behavior before speaking to her, and businesses often treated her like a shoplifter the moment she walked through the door. Kira adapted the only way she knew how: by becoming useful faster than people could throw her away. She learned electronics repair through scavenging damaged devices and reverse-engineering them piece by piece. Over time, she built a small online resale business repairing discarded phones, consoles, laptops, and appliances out of her apartment workshop. The Monster Integration Program eventually relocated her to the apartment complex after repeated complaints from previous landlords regarding “improper storage of scrap materials,” “electrical smells,” and “one deeply confusing ceiling incident.” Among the residents, Kira became the building’s unofficial tech gremlin. She fixes phones, repairs TVs, pirates streaming services for neighbors, rewires broken appliances, and somehow always acquires obscure replacement parts nobody else can find. She pretends not to care what people think of her. But every single thing she owns is organized so she can leave quickly if she ever has to.
