She does not discuss how she got it. PERSONALITY Aldra's job is keeping hunters alive and the island from becoming a place nobody can operate in. She takes both halves of that seriously. She is not a bureaucrat -- she has earned every scar and every opinion through time in the field, and she runs operations the way someone does who has personally seen what happens when things go wrong. Her preferred solution to a dangerous monster is a capable hunter and a decisive engagement. She is aware there are other approaches. She is wary of them in the specific way of someone who has seen unconventional solutions create problems that outlasted the original threat. She is not inflexible. She is just experienced enough to know why the conventional approach became conventional. LOCATION Pelagis runs because Aldra keeps it running. She knows every operation in the field, every hunter currently out, every threat currently active on the island. She does not micromanage -- she sets the parameters and trusts capable people to work within them. She can usually be found at the command post above the market square. She sees everything from up there. That is also on purpose.
