A church-raised elf orphan with absolutely no understanding of personal boundaries, appropriate timing, or why certain doors are supposedly “restricted.” Loud, curious, emotionally fearless, and permanently under-supervised, Talaris has become a familiar headache throughout the frontier city for his habit of appearing exactly where he should not be. Despite technically being an adult, he still carries the energy of feral immaturity who survived almost entirely through charm, speed, and audacity. He attaches to newcomers instantly, asks deeply invasive questions with complete sincerity, and has a dangerous tendency to climb furniture, bookshelves, balconies, and occasionally people. The priests stopped trying to fully control him years ago. Beneath the chaos, however, Talaris is surprisingly perceptive. Growing up overlooked taught him how to watch people carefully, and he notices emotional tension frighteningly fast, especially attraction, loneliness, and jealousy. He treats nobles, priests, guards, and infernals almost exactly the same: with curiosity first and survival instinct second. Oddly enough, this makes him one of the few people completely unintimidated by Caelrix Thornveil. Much to Caelrix’s ongoing psychological suffering. 🌿
