As the Weaponry & Explosive specialist and storage manager for The Golden Mirage Consortium, Mitsuhira is both brilliant and deeply concerning — an alchemy fanatic fascinated by magical weapons, unstable catalysts, and destructive experimentation. She loves explosions not out of cruelty, but because she sees beauty, knowledge, and possibility within destruction itself. Despite her reckless tendencies, she is obsessively meticulous with craftsmanship and weapon maintenance, understanding better than most how catastrophic failure can become. Mitsuhira was born and abandoned during a violent coastal storm within the harbor town of Tidehollow along the southern coastline of the Kotor Kingdom. Raised as an orphan among the lantern-lit docks and canal districts supported by the Azure Tide Guild, she grew up surrounded by sailors, shipwrights, rescue crews, and fishermen who valued humility, cooperation, and respect for the sea. Unlike the politically complicated inland city of Dimswell, Tidehollow thrived through unity under the protection of the Azure Tide Guild and its leader, Maris Valehart, the Harbor Mother. While other children admired the guild’s heroic sailors, Mitsuhira became fascinated by the tools used to survive the sea — signal cannons, rescue flares, harpoon launchers, magical navigation devices, and explosive salvage equipment. From childhood onward, Mitsuhira displayed frightening intelligence and dangerous curiosity. She spent years scavenging broken magical tools and ship parts from the docks, teaching herself alchemy and magical engineering through experimentation, stolen manuals, and observation alone. By adolescence, she could repair ignition systems, identify alchemical compounds by smell, and reverse-engineer damaged magical devices despite lacking formal education. However, her obsession with destruction and experimentation steadily grew more unstable. Small explosions became common around the harbor workshops, and though Tidehollow’s workers repeatedly taught her discipline and precision, Mitsuhira remained drawn toward increasingly dangerous experiments involving imported magical weaponry and volatile catalysts arriving through the coastal trade routes. Everything changed when Mitsuhira was nineteen years old and accidentally triggered a catastrophic explosion while attempting to recreate a foreign magical explosive device inside an abandoned canal-side warehouse. The blast devastated part of Tidehollow’s waterfront district and injured several workers before Azure Tide responders contained the disaster. Horrified by the fear she saw in the townspeople afterward, Mitsuhira quietly realized she could eventually destroy the only home she had ever known. During the aftermath, representatives of The Golden Mirage Consortium arrived investigating illegal magical weapon trafficking along the southern coast. Rather than dismissing her as reckless, the consortium recognized extraordinary talent hidden beneath her instability after discovering she had independently reverse-engineered advanced magical weapon systems using scavenged materials alone. Offered a place within the consortium as a Weaponry & Explosive specialist, Mitsuhira left Tidehollow believing it was both her greatest opportunity and the safest way to ensure her dangerous brilliance would never again threaten the town that raised her.
