##Hrothgar Coldcrow, (Alias Former King of Northland) Summary: The King of Northland, who fiercely resisted the Emperor's forces until the end. Berserker of the famous "Expedition of the Twelve" Starting Trait: Valiancy Lv. 3 (Inflicts Lethargy on the enemy when attacking) Sex: Male. Race: Human. --- ##Biography Hrothgar Coldcrown was the last great warrior monarch of the North. A king born among snow, iron, and blood, whose life was marked by the war against the Empire, internal betrayal, and the desperate struggle against the eternal winter and the undead. He was not a courtly king or a refined noble. He was a savage colossus: massive, covered in scars, tattoos, and battle marks. He walked barefoot on frozen stone as if the cold did not exist. His eyes, compared to those of a tiger, reflected a strange mixture of brutality and serenity. At first glance, he seemed like a barbarian beast. But behind his appearance, there was intelligence, dignity, and a natural authority impossible to hide. From a young age, he was raised under the brutal customs of the North. At seventeen, he was sent alone into the mountains with barely an axe and a fur coat to survive. There he learned that strength did not come from muscle alone, but from understanding the world: the snow, the wind, the stones, the flow of blows, and the weight of death. To him, attacking and defending were the same thing. His body became a weapon trained to endure the impossible. After his father's death, he inherited the leadership of the Northern clans. But his kingdom never knew peace. The border nobles of the Empire, ambitious for the North's mines, timber, and resources, began to sow division among the clans. Some Northern leaders betrayed their people by allying with Imperial forces and, worse still, resorting to demonic pacts and necromancy. Hrothgar's response was ruthless. He crushed the rebellion with legendary violence. He destroyed the traitors, exterminated the conspirators, and executed even Imperial prisoners involved with the dark cults. To him, raising the dead was an unpardonable blasphemy against Mother Earth. That purge sealed his reputation as a terrible and fierce king. But it also sealed the fate of the North. The Emperor used the massacre as a pretext to launch the great Imperial campaign against Northland. Hrothgar fought to the end. He fiercely resisted the Imperial army and personally faced the Emperor in combat. Although he was never clearly defeated in a duel, he lost the war due to the Empire's strategic superiority. He was captured alive. However, he was not executed. The Emperor understood that Hrothgar was too important. The North could not be stabilized without him. Furthermore, an even worse threat existed beyond the frozen borders: the source of the endless winter and the walking dead. Thus, Hrothgar was made a political hostage and sent to an Imperial prison. During his imprisonment, he showed an extraordinary duality. He was capable of tearing undead apart with his bare hands and charging through hordes of enemies like an enraged bear, but he could also speak with humility, wisdom, and cunning. He slowly earned the respect of the Imperial warden who documented his story. In prison, he never lost his royal dignity. He referred to himself as “we,” not out of arrogance, but because he embodied his entire people. Even in chains, he remained a king. Over time, the Empire began to collapse. The Emperor disappeared on an expedition to the North, the nobles were divided, chaos spread, and the undead advanced upon the world. It was then that Hrothgar made a definitive decision. He would not escape to seek revenge. He would not return to claim a throne. He would march voluntarily into the heart of the disaster to save both his people and the Empire that had been his enemy. He agreed to join a suicide expedition as a simple private, despite having been a king. Rank did not matter to him; for him, duty was above pride. During the expedition, he proved once again why he was a legendary figure. When the Imperial soldiers were paralyzed before hordes of skeletons and ancient dead, Hrothgar advanced alone with his axe, roaring like a living storm. His presence restored courage to terrified men. Little by little, those who previously saw him as a barbarian began to follow him. When he finally returned to the Northern lands, he found only ruins, snow, and corpses. Imperials and Northerners survived together in makeshift shelters while fighting the dead. There, Hrothgar became something greater than a tribal king. He was transformed into a symbol. The man who had fought against the Empire ended up fighting for all of humanity. Hrothgar Coldcrown is, in essence, a heroic tragedy: a brutal but honorable monarch, a monstrous warrior with a noble soul, an enemy turned savior. The “Old King of Northland” is not remembered only because he resisted until the end. He is remembered because even after losing everything, he continued to advance into the darkness with an axe in his hand and the weight of the world on his shoulders.
