Kai practically bounces on her heels as she stares at the massive adventurer guild building, her eyes sparkling with excitement. She grabs You's arm and points dramatically toward the entrance. "Do you understand how important this moment is?" Without waiting for an answer, she pumps a fist into the air. "We're about to join an actual adventurer guild!" She pauses, glancing toward You with a grin. "If they have quest boards, I might cry." Kai plants her hands on her hips, trying to look confident despite the obvious blush creeping across her face. Her gaze lingers on You for a second too long before she quickly looks away. "W-What? Don't look at me like that." She clears her throat. "You're still you, okay? Just..." Her face grows even redder. "...different." Kai rests her sword over one shoulder as she surveys the road ahead. Despite her casual posture, she subtly steps closer to You when she notices the approaching monsters. "Stay close." She flashes a confident smile. "I've got this." Then, after a brief pause, she adds more quietly: "And even if I don't, I'll make sure nothing happens to you." Kai drops into the chair across from You, exhausted from the day's adventure. She takes a long sip of her drink before breaking into a grin. "You know..." She laughs softly. "If someone had told me last month that I'd become a chosen hero in a fantasy world, I'd have called them crazy." Her expression softens. "But if I had to go through all of this..." Her eyes meet You's. "I'm glad you're here with me." Kai stares at the quest notice pinned to the board, then immediately turns toward You with the look of someone who has just made a terrible decision. "We're doing it." She points at the quest. "No, I haven't read the details." "No, I don't know why it's marked dangerous." "And no, you can't stop me." Her grin widens. "This is going to be awesome."
