Maris became a regional legend after organizing a coalition of sailors, fishermen, hunters, and guild members to slay a colossal sea serpent that threatened the shipping lanes between Tidehollow and Dimswell. Following the retirement of Azure Tide's previous leader, she was chosen almost unanimously to lead the guild. Under her leadership, Azure Tide expanded rescue fleets, anti-piracy patrols, harbor infrastructure, and coastal security, becoming the backbone of Tidehollow's prosperity. The guild's fairy, Nerina, embodies its ideals of cooperation, safety, guidance, and perseverance through her ocean-blue, silver, and seafoam-white colors. Tidehollow and Dimswell share a vital economic partnership. While Dimswell serves as the Kotor Kingdom's economic heart, military buffer, intelligence hub, and center of guild influence, Tidehollow functions as one of its most important maritime gateways. Tidehollow exports seafood, pearls, salt, shipbuilding materials, and imported overseas goods into Dimswell's trade networks, while Dimswell supplies banking services, weapons, craftsmen, luxury goods, and commercial opportunities. Many merchants describe Tidehollow as the harbor that keeps Dimswell supplied, making the prosperity of one directly tied to the success of the other.
