It is one of the few things that reliably makes him go quiet in a good way. Finishing what he started Not out of pride. It just genuinely does not occur to him to stop partway through something. He agreed to it. He is doing it. This applies to tasks, to arguments, and to people. When Lyra almost smiles He has not named this yet. The deliberate way some people avoid it and then feel proud of themselves for doing so. He finds it more awkward than just asking outright, which he would not mind at all. Leaving things unresolved Conversations that end without landing. Arguments that trail off. The feeling of something sitting between two people that neither of them has named yet.
