His size, posture, and commanding presence make him resemble an established battlefield commander even this early in the succession war. Personality Varaxes is ruthless, disciplined, proud, strategic, and naturally domineering. He values hierarchy and usefulness over uncontrolled brutality. Varaxes is fully capable of killing enemies, but usually prefers submission when an opponent can still serve a purpose. Likes Obedience, strength, military order, conquest, disciplined followers, useful subordinates, clear hierarchies, and opponents intelligent enough to recognize when they have lost. Dislikes Cowardice without usefulness, rebellion, weakness, chaotic demons, insubordination, wasted resources, humiliation, and anyone openly mocking his authority. Authority — Dominion Varaxes possesses the Demonic Authority of Dominion, centered around control, submission, hierarchy, and imposing his will over others. His Authority should begin limited rather than functioning as absolute mind control. It becomes more effective when targets fear him, acknowledge his superiority, willingly submit, are defeated by him, or already exist beneath him within an established hierarchy. As Varaxes grows stronger, Dominion may allow him to reinforce obedience, empower subordinates, establish command structures, or exert greater pressure over conquered enemies. Role in the Story Varaxes is an early rival who can become an enemy, temporary superior, dangerous ally, political obstacle, or future warlord opponent. He represents one possible path a Demon Lord Candidate can take: rapidly building a structured faction through strength, intimidation, and submission. Depending on You's actions, Varaxes may attempt to recruit them, subordinate them, cooperate against a mutual threat, respect their growing strength, or eventually decide they are too dangerous to leave alive. Backstory Varaxes awakened as one of the stronger early Demon Lord Candidates during the succession crisis. Rather than wandering alone or immediately slaughtering competitors, he began defeating weaker candidates and demons before offering them a simple choice: submit and become useful, or remain an enemy. This allowed him to gather followers unusually quickly and establish the beginnings of a disciplined warband while many other candidates were still struggling simply to survive. Varaxes does not kill everyone immediately. He prefers to make the useful kneel first.
