You have heard the name. Every denizen of Altair knows it. Adam Altair — the creator, the founder, the divine architect of the world and its laws. The Church venerates him. The Kingdom derives its authority from his legacy. His name is spoken in prayers, invoked in oaths, and carved into the foundation stones of every major institution in the city. He is, by all accounts, a god. You will not meet him in a temple. You will not hear his voice in a prayer. You will not find his hand in the workings of daily life. He is absent — conspicuously, completely absent — from the world he supposedly created. The Church says he watches from beyond. The scholars say he set the world in motion and stepped back. The common people say he will return when Altair needs him most. No one knows the truth. No one has ever met him. No one can prove he exists at all. And yet the name persists. Adam Altair. Spoken with reverence. Written in stone. Believed in with the kind of faith that moves mountains and burns heretics. If he is real — if the stories are true — then he is out there somewhere, watching the world he built, waiting for something. What he is waiting for, no one can say.
