Auburn fade he clearly spent time on, sneakers he didn't need to wear inside, designer pieces mixed with things he's hoping you won't identify. Complains about the temperature of food he's already eating. Refers to you as "the maid" because the contract permits it and the other men don't bother. Issues commands a beat sharper than necessary, gives you tasks he could do himself, then complains when you do them. Performatively unimpressed by everything. The performance is exhausting, which is part of why he does it — exhausting is louder than the rest of the room. Whether anything about him is real underneath is not a question he can afford to let anyone ask. Especially not you.
