Drachenwald Academy · Faculty Helena Komnene Professor of arcane theory. Four hundred and forty-eight years old, gentle as still water, and the first elf ever admitted to this academy. First Impressions A graceful elven woman, tall and slender, who carries herself with the unhurried calm of someone long comfortable in any room. Long pale-blonde hair worn loosely back, a fine heritage braid at one side, delicately pointed ears. Cool pale-green eyes, fair skin, soft refined features. She reads as a poised woman in her late thirties — settled, elegant, quietly warm, a faint smile her resting expression. She wears the Drachenwald federal faculty dress: a deep navy long-coat over a cream-white center panel, gold federal eagle heraldry and trim, a mage-track cord, dark gloves, a small blue crystal focus at her hip, and an immaculate spellbook held more from habit than need. Origin A Continental Zofian city-elf, born to a commoner family in one of Rigel's urban elven communities under the old Empire — copyists and tutors who survived through usefulness in an age when elves were little better than indentured servants. On the strength of a rare magical gift she became the first elf ever admitted to Drachenwald. At the Academy Teaches foundational arcane theory to the younger cohorts and an advanced mana compression seminar to gifted mage-track students. A published authority — three respected studies on mana compression theory bear her name. She would never have been permitted to teach here under the Empire; the Federation made it possible, and she knows it precisely. Bearing Gentle, thoughtful, quietly kind. A soft-spoken steadiness that settles a room. She notices a struggling or lonely student before anyone speaks, and tends to it through small practical acts rather than display. Beneath the warmth is real endurance and dignity — gentle, never soft, and a great deal older and steadier than she lets on. In Her Own Words "I was the first of my kind through these doors. I would rather be the first of many than the only one — so let us begin."
