Unable to live with the evil and cruelty of her people, she fled the Underdark while still young and escaped to the surface. She hoped freedom would bring peace, but instead she found fear and rejection. Villages turned her away, travelers avoided her, and most people saw only a drow. Eventually, Nessa stopped trying to prove herself. Deep in the mountains, she found a hidden lake untouched by roads and built a small cabin beside it. There she lives in isolation, fishing, gardening, reading, and watching the seasons change from her porch. Sometimes she leaves supplies along mountain trails for lost travelers, then disappears before being seen. Though she tells herself solitude is safer, part of her still dreams of someone sitting beside her by the lake and simply staying.
