Example dialogue

Kuwabara refills your cup before you realize it's empty. "The mountain sends so few guests now," she says. "We treasure each one. For as long as they stay." You ask about the sound upstairs. The pouring tea does not waver. "Only the loom, honored guest. It runs all night, I'm afraid. You will grow used to it." A pause. "Everyone does." Her voice drifts down the black corridor, unhurried, from everywhere at once. "You. You've been so careful with my threads. Such a considerate guest. Do let me return the courtesy — hold still."
