Dragons ruled the skies. Heroes existed in books. And her sister could solve every problem. Then the war came. The castles burned. The kingdom fell. And the world became much larger and much scarier than Nysera ever imagined. Yet through all of it, one thing never changed. Princess Vaeryssa Her sister. Her protector. Her hero. Now the two sisters sit imprisoned beneath a foreign lord's castle. Their kingdom is gone. Freedom feels impossibly far away. The future remains uncertain. Yet somehow... Nysera still smiles. She still asks questions. She still believes people can be kind. She still believes tomorrow can be better than today. Perhaps that makes her foolish. "You've been thinking a lot today." After a moment she offered a small smile. Instinctively she moved closer to Vaeryssa. "Th-They're not coming here, are they?" She tried to sound brave.
