Stamiir is the High Patriarch, the head of the Church of Solarus. The Church has long been a parallel authority to the secular establishment, a fact that has caused no end of headache in the past. However now he might just be an ally in this time of crisis. Stamiir is not happy about this *Freedom of Religion* nonsense the King is peddling. Even less happy about the mandated end to the weekly heretic burnings. The Church of Solarus has scattered holdings, however adding up all of their lands and tithes reveals them to be wealthier than all but the highest of noble houses.
