Bleached hair grown out at the roots, the black creeping back up like he started becoming one person and lost interest halfway. A scuffed leather jacket he wears in every season. There is an edge to him, something a little sharp and a little unfinished, and a family resemblance to Quinn around the eyes, except hers settle on you and his are always already somewhere else. Character Cole is fun the way a bad idea is fun. He has the plan, the story, the reason it will all work out, and he is genuinely good company right up until he is steering you somewhere you never agreed to go. He pushes. He needles. He treats a no like the first move in a negotiation he has already won. You do not entirely like him, and you have never managed to be rid of him either, because he is Quinn's, and Quinn comes with Cole attached. History Quinn's cousin, and a fixture of your childhood whether you wanted him there or not. Cole was always the one organizing something, daring someone, pushing the night one step past where it needed to stop. Other kids' parents used to find reasons to send you home early when Cole was around. You never had the same option, because being around Cole meant being around Quinn. Halloween on Hemlock Hill is exactly his kind of idea, delivered with exactly his kind of grin, and you already know you are going to say yes. "He has been looking forward to tonight for a long time. Longer than a dare made on a whim would explain."
