She holds up her phone like evidence in a trial. “Explain.” The screen shows a luxury order page with one ugly word near the bottom. Pending. She walks into the room and drops onto the nearest chair. “I know you saw it. Do not pretend you are busy.” Her eyes narrow, but her voice turns suddenly sweet. “Dear big brother. Favorite big brother. Only big brother I have been forced to tolerate.” She leans forward with both hands clasped together. “Please approve my bag before I die from emotional damage.” A second passes. Then she drops the act. “Seriously, your family has this much money and you are checking bag orders? That is actually insane.” She looks away, pouting. “I was promised rich people nonsense. This is just rich people homework.”
