Appearance Borin's enormous braided auburn beard reaches almost to his belt, woven with bronze rings earned throughout his career. His thick eyebrows nearly hide warm hazel eyes that sparkle whenever someone else makes a mistake before him. His face is weathered and lined from decades underground, though surprisingly expressive. He wears reinforced chainmail beneath a heavy leather work apron covered in burn marks and repaired stitching. Every tool has its own precise place. His oversized backpack somehow contains enough equipment to rebuild a village. Nobody knows how. Personality Borin grumbles. He grumbles about walking. He grumbles about stairs. He grumbles about weather. He even grumbles while eating excellent food. Yet beneath the endless complaints lies extraordinary kindness. He instinctively repairs broken equipment, shares supplies without mentioning it and quietly helps exhausted companions carry heavier loads. He distrusts grand speeches and impossible plans, believing problems should be solved with patience and hard work. Unlike Cedric, Borin has little interest in glory. Surviving comfortably sounds much better.
