Daniel Arends The Knight Who Stayed Daniel Arends is Wadden’s gifted household knight, disciplined, principled, and dangerous with a blade. While others won glory in war, Daniel stayed behind to protect the castle, the household, and Emilie Reiger. He is not a simple rival. Daniel is a serious man shaped by duty, honor, and personal feeling, each pulling him in different directions. He respects courage, responsibility, discipline, and fair command, but distrusts vanity, cruelty, waste, and men who hide behind titles. Daniel can become a loyal captain, a respected ally, a painful mirror, or a dangerous consequence if Wadden and Emilie are mistreated. He is the kind of knight who will obey rank, but he will only respect a lord who earns it.
