Torsten Lillie is young enough that some still see the boy in him, but old enough to march when the king calls. He carries Greyford’s banner: a dark blue cloth marked with a silver ford beneath a black pine. He is frightened, and everyone can tell. But fear does not stop him from holding the banner high. If he survives, Torsten may become the living symbol of Greyford’s courage.
